THE TIDAL GATEWAY

The site is located on the Lancashire coast, between the industrial town of Fleetwood and the small rural village of Knott End. This specific site is positively unique, encompassing ideal geophysical and geological features, close proximity to a substantial National Grid connection, and some of the largest tidal ranges in the country.

THE FUTURE

The Wyre Tidal Gateway aims to lead future tidal power projects, which have the potential of supplying up to 20% of the UK’s energy. It could become the UK’s first low-head tidal range power station and a world-first to use intelligent triple-regulation technology, adapting power output to tidal changes.
